Visiting Notice, Rules and Regulations:

At The Lee Cemetery, we are dedicated to honoring the legacy of the Lee Family and preserving an important part of Texas history. Established in 1800 as the resting place of the Lee Family, the cemetery remains a sacred site devoted to remembrance, preservation, and respect. The final sole direct descendant of Robert Jehu “Bob” Lee to be laid to rest here will be our non-profit founder, Michael Harris. Upon his passing, no further burials will take place on these grounds.

The Lee Cemetery is committed to protecting and preserving the history, stories, and legacies of those buried here, along with the surrounding land they once called home. As a historical, family-oriented, non-profit cemetery, we strive to maintain the memory of the Lee Family and their descendants for future generations. While many distant relatives of Bob Lee remain, Michael Harris is recognised as the final direct descendant. In the same spirit upheld by the Lee Family for generations, we also seek to support and serve the surrounding community whenever possible.

The Lee Cemetery holds no political affiliation or opinion regarding the history of those interred on these grounds and welcomes approved visitors regardless of religion, sexuality, political beliefs, race, or background. All visitors are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and refrain from offensive, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour. The cemetery board reserves the right to refuse or revoke entry to any individual or group at its discretion. Above all else, please remember that these grounds are the resting place of loved ones and should be treated with the same respect you would wish for your own family.

Visitors who receive approval to enter the cemetery are welcome to mourn, reflect, and respectfully explore the grounds. Please do not touch or disturb graves, memorials, artifacts, fencing, or surrounding historical features. Vandalism, theft, reckless destruction, or trespassing will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the property, permanent bans, fines, and/or criminal prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.

Silence or quiet conversation is encouraged out of respect for the deceased and fellow visitors. The Lee Cemetery is a place of remembrance and rest — not entertainment. Pets are not permitted on cemetery grounds. Registered service animals are permitted in accordance with applicable law.

Photography and videography are permitted only with prior approval from The Lee Cemetery Board. Due to the religious beliefs and wishes of the Lee Family and their descendants, paranormal investigations, ghost hunting, spirit communication, treasure hunting or similar activities are strictly prohibited on cemetery grounds.

All approved visitors will be required to sign an agreement acknowledging and accepting these rules prior to entry. If you wish to visit The Lee Cemetery, please use the "contact" tab in advance to reserve an individual or group visit, weather and scheduling permitting.
